Christine Scheible
CEO,
Quantum Technology
Associates, Inc.
Christine Scheible’s IT career has spanned a
period of over 25 years and has been
characterized by her relentless pursuit of
innovative technology solutions to business
and healthcare challenges.
These innovations have included: a GPS solution to provide real-time advanced
warning of severe weather conditions at US Airways; providing PDAs to aircraft
mechanics for them to access schematics and to track parts replaced on an aircraft;
writing an assembler randomizing routine that was used to speed up the storage
and retrieval of customer and account records in an IMS database (and was later
sold to IBM); and designing an application that provided a retail banking customer
service center with data that enabled them to more effectively cross sell products
and services, among many others.
Since forming Quantum Technology Associates in 2004, Christine’s focus on
innovation has continued. Quantum has developed software for the first home
dialysis machine. Under contract with Bausch & Lomb, Quantum is writing
software for a new diagnostic instrument for the measurement and analysis of
human vision and the structure of the eye. Her company has developed a software-controlled
mechanical device used to adjust the Lap-Band, a new medical device
used as an alternative to gastric bypass surgery, thus eliminating an invasive medical
procedure for patients. She now has her sights on developing and introducing
software for use in medical simulators that will allow medical professionals and
medical students to see 3D objects without using 3D glasses.
Christine also makes time to share her expertise with others. She has been a
University of Rochester Simon School mentor since 2004. She is a Rotarian math
tutor for second graders. She is lending her IT expertise to a Rotary program
which will allow Rochester School #8 students to publish a newspaper.
