IT Woman of the Year Nominee:

Lynn Garski

Global Alliance Director,
EDS, an HP Company

Lynn Garski

Lynn Garski is the Global Alliance Director with EDS, an HP company and has been with the company for over 24 years. Lynn's career started as a systems engineer and a software developer for EDS supporting many divisions within General Motors Corporation. She was an acknowledged expert in her company for the implementation of financial applications. Lynn also completed additional technical training and provided significant IT contributions supporting other areas of the clients business including embedded systems, materials management and manufacturing product development. She spent over 10 years on-site at General Motors in IT supporting various divisions, departments and managed large IT teams of applications systems engineers and developers. She was a leader in pioneering the company's movement to establishing leveraged IT resource models which have evolved to what the industry now calls "off-shore" or "best shore".

Lynn is a pioneer in the IT field of Alliances. She is a founding member of the EDS Agility Alliance, a very well recognized brand in the IT industry. Collectively, EDS and its Agility Alliance partners collaborate to design build and run a market leading services platform and develop technology based services that deliver tangible results to our clients.

Lynn was a member of the team that won the 2008 Alliance Program Excellence Award, given by The Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals (ASAP), the leading global professional association dedicated to alliance formation and practice. Winners of ASAP's Alliance Excellence Awards exemplify alliance best practices, innovation and organizational impact, often developing novel approaches in achieving results through collaboration.

Outside of EDS, Lynn has been very active in the academic community. Lynn has been on an advisory board at Rochester Institute of Technology for the College of Business since September 2003. She is on the executive parent board at Our Lady of Mercy High School. She performs a role as secretary. Lynn is actively involved in many activities as a Mercy parent, a local high school for "Young Women who make a Difference". As a result of Lynn's involvement at RIT and at Our Lady of Mercy High School she forged a partnership between the two organizations. Using her expertise in developing alliance partnerships she was quickly able to identify the specific needs of both organizations and how they could help one another.
