Alana C. Miller recognized as one of Rochester's 25 Up and Coming professionals
The
Rochester Women's Network created this award to recognize women on
the "fast track" who have
demonstrated professional and career leadership potential. The honorees
are professionals who have worked in their current careers for fewer
than 10 years, but have made great strides in that relatively short
time.
Since 1998 Alana has served High Tech Rochester, where she is now Program Director. Alana also became
the first Executive Director of Digital Rochester in 2001 and guided the rapidly growing networking
organization through its startup years.
Also recognized as an "Up and Coming" was Dawn Tobin, President of Tobin & Associates, Inc.
Dawn is also a member of the AWC.
Kim Perry promoted to Marketing Manager and Webmaster
Passero Associates recently announced the promotion of our own Kim Perry
to Marketing Manager and Webmaster. In her new role, Kim will be working
closely with firm leadership to ensure Marketing support and will also
be responsible for the firm's website. Kim has over 10 years of experience
and holds an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Interactive Multimedia
Development from RIT and a B.S. degree in History from SUNY Brockport.

Deborah Harper named 2003 National Past President's Award winner
The
Past President's Award is a national AWC award that recognizes and honors
the contributions of distinguished AWC members. Award recipients are
selected on the basis of contributions to the betterment of the association
and outstanding service to the computing community. Up to four recipients
are chosen nationally each year. The presentation
of the 2003 Past President's Award took place in conjunction with the
National Board of Directors meeting held in Rochester, New York on October
18, 2003.
Deborah Harper is principal of Harper Hewes Inc, an
executive search firm. She has served the Upstate Chapter of AWC in many
capacities and was our guiding hand as we expanded our mission during recent years.
Lena-Marie Inserra nominated for YWCA's "Women First" Award
The Association for Women in Computing Upstate NY Chapter placed Lena-Marie
Inserra's name in nomination for the YWCA "Women First" Award. We believe that her volunteerism
reflects the spirit of the YWCA and has made a significant impact on the
lives of women and children in the Rochester area
Lena-Marie has used her skills at grant proposal
writing over the years to secure monies and needed items for various
groups in the Rochester area. She has given of her time and talents to the Rochester Women's Bean
Project, the Catholic Family Center's Restart Program and Homeless and
Housing Program, the Southwest Area Network (SWAN), and TiLC
Ministries.
