An Introduction to LinkedIn for the Business Professional

Steven Tylock, the author of "The LinkedIn Professional Trainer" will provide an introduction to using LinkedIn, the worlds #1 business networking site with over 19 million members. His presentation will cover the general concepts behind social networking for business professionals, and LinkedIn specifically. He will cover joining and using the free membership version to find, get found, and network. Steve will lead participants to be comfortable creating a LinkedIn identity and connecting (and re-connecting) online.

Once established, participants will be able to use their network to promote their professional careers, conduct research for sales and partnering opportunities, and reach out to business contacts through trusted connections. Steve will also explain how the LinkedIn system protects individuals from other users, and gives account owners complete control over contact. (And he'll also show how to get a public web address like his below!) In addition, Steve will demonstrate how LinkedIn Groups function.

This is the right presentation to:

  • Learn how to do more with LinkedIn - for the inexperienced
  • Get started with LinkedIn - for the new comer
  • Find out about networking online - for the curious

Presenter, Steven Tylock:

When not busy with LinkedIn, Steve consults in organizations looking to turn around their information technology environment - needing help making the right technology connections.

His experiences run the gamut from small to large businesses, education to manufacturing, office to product development, and private to government operations.

Steve has been building relationships with those around him long enough to understand that there is truth in each of: "It's what you know!" and "It's who you know!" and "It's who knows you!" And has embraced the online social networking tool LinkedIn since it was a fraction of it's current size.
