When
was the last time you took a break to enjoy the arts and spend
time with old friends and meet some new ones? The Association
for Woman in Computing is hosting a wine and cheese networking
event sponsored by Energy East at Artisan Works on
November 16th from 5-8pm. Tours will be given through out the
night so you can experience the 50,000 square foot facility and
see the work of hundreds of local artists.
For visitors from the
serious collector to the curious novice, Artisan Works offers
an unforgettable venture into the creative depths of Rochester.
Visitors will find every style and medium imaginable, as well
as a wide variety of antiques, as you are transported to different
times and eras in each tribute room.
Artisan Works is filled with different tribute rooms, such as
the Frank Lloyd Wright Room, a Japanese tatami room, a Dinner
Theatre tribute to Hitchcock, as well as a rooftop sculpture
garden that feels like it should belong to the ritzy real estate
of New York City.
Artisan Works
offers a creative use of an old commercial warehouse,
which ties a piece of Rochester’s history to its present
day arts and culture. A “behind the scenes” experience
of art creation and appreciation adds to the truly all-inclusive
environment where artists and the community interact. As a not-for-profit
sel- funded organization, Artisan Works is completed dedicated
to the growth and future of Rochester.
