E Discovery and Corporate Responsibility

The New Federal Rules of Civil Procedure in
E-Discovery & Corporate Litigation –
What the Federal Rule Changes Mean for Your Company

On December 1, 2006, changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) addressing discovery of electronically stored information (ESI) during litigation went into effect.  The amendments clarify the existing rules and recognize issues that litigants, parties and courts have wrestled with for the past decade, such as the duty of the company to preserve information, formats of production, privilege, and sanctions.

Specifically, the new rules now explicitly create some "up-front" responsibilities for all parties in cases with discoverable electronic data.  Susan Ippoliti, CEO of Solutions in Litigation, will present:

  • Review the new changes in the FRCP rule
  • Methods to handle the ever-growing volume of electronic data and
  • Discuss the how to respond quickly & cost-effectively and in compliance with these new rules
