XML - What is it?

Barb BrennerXML, XSLT, DTD, XSD, Xpath, DOM, SAX, XHTML ... it sounds like alphabet soup! These are all technologies related to XML.  But what is XML and what is the purpose of each of these technologies?  This presentation will provide the answers to those questions through a live demonstration of the technology.  XML is a text-based, standardized format that is used to communicate data between information systems.

Barb Brenner has been programming and teaching programming languages/technologies for many years.  She taught at Logical Operations/Ziff-Davis Education/Element K for 9 years and for the last
several years has been doing contract training on topics such as XML, Java, ASP.NET, VB.NET, JavaScript, and SQL.  She loves to take the mystery out of programming languages and technologies by simplifying the complex.  XML seems complex, but Barb will simplify and sort out the technologies in the XML "alphabet soup".

This event will be held on March 29th from 7:45am to 9:45 am at the Professional Skills Center at Bryant and Stratton College. The cost is $10 for members and $12 for non-members.Registration is required by noon on March 27.
